Clark Planetarium

The Clark Planetarium was created to promote public awareness of the sciences by putting visitors through bamboozling interactive and educational experiences. The facility is home to the 205-seat, 55-foot (16.8-meter) Hansen Dome Theater, the first ‘pitless’ digital dome planetarium in America. It features individual interactive seat button controls and two super-high resolution projectors that work together to create a 3D experience with no glasses required. The theater also has an impressive 21-speaker surround sound system. Its shows cover a variety of space-related themes, from fully immersive 3D productions to music entertainment performances. The Clark Planetarium also hosts the ATK IMAX Theater, which shows 3D and 2D science and nature-related films by day and Hollywood-style blockbusters at night.

Besides the theaters, the Planetarium also includes 10,000 square feet (930 square meters) of free exhibits. It is open 365 days a year, with the final show each evening usually scheduled around 10pm.
