Alessandro was amazing- the weather wasn't cooperating and he rearranged the schedule to make sure that we could fit in the hike and the exploration of the park

My husband and I loved this tour! The tour included hotel pickup which was a huge plus. The tour group included us two and a family of four from the UK, which was the perfect size group. Our tour guide Saro was wonderful! He is native to the region and was so knowledgeable about Mt. Etna. He gave a great overview of Mt. Etna before we did our hike and provided a wealth of information about the area throughout the tour. The hike wasn't too strenuous and would be good for all groups. In addition to touring Mt. Etna we also explored a cave and the gorge. Both were really cool. All neccessary equipment was provided The highlight of the day was the delicious lunch at Don Saro winery! The food was amazing and included an appetizer, pasta dish and dessert. We sampled red, white and rose wines. Our glasses were always full! It was a great day out!

I absolutely loved this tour! Since we were picked up from our hotel, it was easy to find the tour guide. Communication was great through WhatsApp and we had a full day of seeing Etna and all of the beautiful views from the foothills. The lunch and wine tasting was at a vineyard and was incredible. It was about an hour drive from our hotel to Etna for all of the tour, so this trip was well worth the money. I highly recommend this tour if you want to see Etna and the amazing views of Taormina.

Paolo was an amazing host, very knowledgeable, a geologist - so was full of interesting information about the Etna craters. Loved the walk around the crater rims. I would definitely change the food element of this trip. The food was well below par, served on plastic plates with plastic forks... really like school cafeteria food. Awful. I had also said that my friend needed a low GI diet, and all she got was cheese and an apple. No effort made whatsoever to cater for anyone gluten free or diabetic, even when given the heads up. No excuse for this poor response. It seems that the 'lunch' was really a marketing trap to take us all to one man's Cave. It was freezing in the cave where we had 'lunch'. This needs a total rethink. A shame really as this had the makings of an excellent adventure.

This tour was the highlight of our trip. Roberto, our guide, was very knowledgable and helpful. We hiked up to view Mount Etna and were told about the geological highlights and the environment around the volcano. There were beautiful views during the hike. We climbed through a cave made by the volcano and waded through the Alcantara Gorge, an amazing geological formation. Our group also enjoyed a wonderful lunch and wine tasting at a local vineyard and a visit to a beautiful village, near by. It was a great experience and well planned and executed. Thanks so much Roberto!!

Manuel was the most amazing guide!! He was extremely knowledgeable and able to explain on a basic level. He helped us with footwear and extra jackets and hiking sticks. He really knew his way around the area so we got the very most from the day. His sense of humor a delight and English excelllent.

My boyfriend and I took this tour in late July while we were staying in Catania. The hotel pickup service was very nice, but we had to take a morning train to the Taormina-Giardini station to get picked up. Our tour guide met us there, then we headed to two more spots to pick up 4 more people. We first completed a beautiful hike on Etna, then we stopped for lunch at a winery. The meal was fantastic, and the wine was amazing. From there we spent some time in Alcantara gorge! What I really liked about this tour was that all entry fees were included. While I was shopping around for tours to do of Etna, I saw that very few included all of the sights we wanted to see Etna, Alcantara and covered the cost of lunch and entry fees as well. Our tour guide I can't remember his name now! was very knowledgeable about the landscape and area, so he was able to answer all of our questions! By now, I forget what time everything was said and done and we were back at the train station maybe at 5pm, but it was really a full day tour. Overall, I thought this was a very well-run tour. The local tour group that runs it is Etna People. If I'm ever back in Sicily, I would definitely want to use this company again!

We had a lovely day hiking up to see some amazing craters, followed by the cave which had a lot of Sicilian history. Lunch was delicious with a different wine for each course served inside a vineyard we were sitting alongside the gigantic wine barrels! Final stop at the Alcantara gorge in the freezing water! Our guide Saro was really informative, whilst also being really good fun! I would highly recommend bringing water shoes and a swimsuit for the gorge as the stones were quite sharp! Thanks for an amazing day!

We enjoyed a great day with Tony who was extremely welcoming, knowledgable and enthusiastic. He clearly has a passion for the area and subject matter and it shines through. A tour of 8 people filled our mini bus with a mix of Italian and English speakers but this was no problem for Tony delivering each explanation in both languages. The journey was very comfortable and all necessary equipment provided from boots, coats, hats, gloves and walking poles. A good level of physical fitness is an absolute must. Etna is stunning, there is so much to learn, followed by a delicious lunch and wine tasting at the vine yard and onto see the incredible Alcantra Gorges. There is so much to do and see on this tour, it really is excellent value for money and a fabulous way to see a diverse range of picturesque landscapes. We highly recommend this tour.
