A great day out seeing the sights of the Best of the West in Madeira. Gama (nickname) was our guide for the day and was exceptionally concerned for our safety and took good care of us. It would have been nice to have had some more time at Cabo Girao and Ribeira Brava, otherwise it was a great day to see what Madeira has to offer.

A great way to see some of the island. We had a nice clear sunny day and trip was informative and enjoyable.. If going with Lido Tours double check your pick up point via email.

Good exposure to islands scenery. Would have preferred a 4 hour tour without a 2 hour lunch break.

It was an excellent day trip, thoroughly enjoyable. John, our guide spoke good English, gave us a lot of information about places we were driving around, or stopped at. He was very approachable and answered all the questions I asked. I recommend this tour - also it was very convenient for us as we were picked up from the hotel and dropped nearby the point we wanted not our hotel. John was kind enough to do it for us and gave us some advice about shops with the Portugese cork wares/souvenirs. We appreciate that very much.

Although this was one of the cheaper tours on the market, it was thoroughly professional in every way. We were really glad to take a tour with such a well-informed guide, who spoke such good English. I really don't know how these drivers manage to keep an eye on the windy roads, whilst also giving a talk, and also translating it into a foreign language. I would crash in the first five minutes if I tried that. The schedule for the tour was excellent, because we arrived at Cabo Girao fairly early before it got too crowded. And we spent the hottest part of the day by the sea. I'm hoping to go to Madeira again, because I have another long To Do list, but when I do I shall contact Lido Tours straight away. No way are we driving on those crazy roads ourselves!

BEWARE: this trip is advertised as a small group in a minibus. It was changed without notice to a full bus of 50 passengers. Not the sort of trip we would have booked if we had known. We were offered to do the tour the following day but this was not possible for us.

Great trip! Our guide Marco was very friendly and funny, and also really knowledgable. The views very breath-taking! We also did the tour of the East, which was fantastic, too. Worth the money.

A really good tour with ample time at stops. Plenty of information from the guide and a good way to explore the west of the island.

An excellent day trip. Our bus arrived on time and the driver was very knowledgeable. We traveled to many interesting places and had a delicious lunch. Very pleasant companions on the trip. Only complaint, stopping too often at place to look at shops.
