The van ride out to Zagora and the different sightseeing stops were excellent. The drive through the Atlas mountains was beautiful. We stopped at a small restaurant for lunch and it was good. You cannot beat the value of this trip. The camel ride was fun (a little uncomfortable) but you do not ride that long. The tent camp was well set up and the food was very good. The washrooms were way better than I expected. Here are the downsides: the beds are very hard and the tents are VERY hot. I was willing to give the review a 5 because everything else about the trip was so great even if you cannot sleep well.

Amazing experience. Amazing people. Amazing scenery. Expect a long drive both days and be prepared to have fun with the people you are with. It was the best 48 hours I had during my time in Morocco. Brilliant entertainment at the campsite, beautiful sunset and rise. Everything was perfect.

Amazing experience! Went by my self, a 20 year old girl, and felt completely safe the entire time. The cars rides were long, but were in good company with other travelers and the most amazing views through the mountains. The camp site was great with fabulous food and entertainment!

It is a good excursion but you spend a lot of time just driving. When you are camping in the desert it is a nice evening but in the morning they rush you so much that there is no time, even 30 minutes, to explore the camping grounds and surroundings. You cannot to do it when you arrive because it is too dark. The camping is very comfortable and there is hot water all the time. It is possible to take a shower but don't forget to take your own towel. We were back in Marrakesh at 17.00 instead of 19.00 so definitely we should have more time in the morning. Camels ride is not a pleasant one, anyway for me, and in the morning we were forced to give tips not how much we wanted but the amount the boys demanded. We did not mind it but it was not nice the way they were demanding - 20 dirham per person no less.

Book this trip with caution. Our driver was ok, at best. We had car trouble which severely cut off our experience i.e. the first day we ended up driving approximately 10 hours with no break in the small town with the tour/after all the car trouble, no one had any desire to stop for pictures. Our driver also did not have very strong English skills, which made communication very difficult. He failed to highlight how important it is to wear your seatbelt as there are new laws in Marrakesh that require all passengers to wear seatbelts. At one point, we were stopped further delaying our trip, we ended up being stopped twice in total, and one of the passengers had to pay approximately 30 Euro for not wearing their seatbelt without getting much notice from our driver. Our driver then proceeded to reprimand the whole car, which made for a very awkward remaining journey ride. Once we arrived at the sight we ended up missing the sunset, so we rode our camels in the dark, the camp sight was clean and the food was pretty good. The dance/entertainment around the camp fire was great! However, we had major problems with our tent that evening. It was raining all night and our tent sprung a leak. But not a little leak. So much so, my bed got soaked, as well as the bed on the other side. We ended up having to squeeze three people in a bed and a half since half the fourth bed was soaked as well as moving the beds in the dark in the middle of the night. This made for a very uncomfortable sleep for the night and I could have caught a serious cold sleeping in water all night, had I not woken up and switched beds. On the drive home, everyone was freezing, but because of the model of the car, our driver could not turn on the heat. Instead, he only turned on the A/C, so the car would not overheat again, thus making for a number of cold/uncomfortable hours. Additionally, our driver was using his phone, while driving to take pictures of the snow. While we got a chance to stop and do the tour of the small town which was very nice, it was still a very long journey Day 2 as well. Keep in mind these were VERY windy roads, personally I feared for my life. However, because his language skills weren't strong, I did not feel comfortable saying anything, out of fear of being reprimanded/just ignored. All in all, I would NOT recommend this trip. And would look for another if possible. Unfortunately the few moments of good, could not weigh a generally uncomfortable, cold, and many hours spent in the car experience.

In general it had been a great trip with very friendly and helpful guides. But there is one negative aspect about how the tour is organised which is why I cannot rate the tour that high. You are pushed into overexpensive restaurants and places that cost extra. So you have to be very careful not to fall into tourist traps.
Except for this part of the trip had been an exciting experience.

The tour is very well done. It is a lot of time spent driving which makes for 2 long days. The communication to where you are going and what is coming could be improved along the way. Our driver was very kind and made sure we were comfortable. The tour is well planned, the drive was the only long part of the day.

Great experience to contrast the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh with a trip into a Berber region of Morocco! It is a long minibus ride 8-9 hours to get to the Zagora desert, but our driver ensured there were stops along the way to split up the journey the stop at the UNESCO world heritage site was definitely the best. Going in a group with other travellers made it more fun and music for the roadtrip is recommended. When you get to the Berber camp you'll soon realise it was worth the ride the desert setting, accommodation beds and blankets in tents, atmosphere and entertainment.
Get in touch beforehand to confirm your pick-up point as you may not have mobile data when out and about Omar trip coordinator confirmed with me via whatsapp. You'll need extra cash to pay the UNESCO heritage sight guide 30 MAD, camel trip leader and then for lunch on each day 100 MAD each. Our driver was great on the journey, got us to the locations on time and even accommodated stopping people off at different return points.
