The scenery is BEAUTIFUL! I also thought the itinerary was great. It was the perfect amount of sight seeing in the time that was allotted.
Unfortunately, our guide - while she was a lovely woman - provided hardly any commentary. There were 8 of us in the van/coach. One of the couples required their commentary in italian which would have been okay, except that it was specifically listed as an english speaking tour. So the downside of that was that our guide gave us commentary in english, but continued to give extensive commentary in Italian. And the rest of the time she spent speaking with the driver. Most of our tour was spent in silence, other than the occasional pointing out of landmarks.
The other disappointment was our lunch. The restaurant was beautiful. When we arrived it was completely empty, yet the owners insisted on sitting the 8 of us at one table in the corner - as far away from the views as possible. There would have been so many other places we could have sat to enjoy the beautiful views. The food was presented to us but was never explained what we were eating. It also would have been a great opportunity for us to chat with other travellers, but the conversation was awkward and stilted. Our guide could have helped facilitate that by having us introduce ourselves from the beginning of the tour, where we were from, etc.
Overall we loved the scenery and the chance to see the coast. But we were extremely disappointed with our guide and the restaurant.
We spent more time at Naples picking/dropping people than we did exploring this beautiful Italian coastline! The views were amazing on the drive and we did visit all 3 locations but only for 35-40 mins for Amalfi and Sorrento. We only stopped for 5-10 mins at Positano to take photos. Waste of money!
We enjoyed our all day excursion. We were picked up near the cruise terminal on time and the guides made sure we returned to the cruise ship on time. The day went as described on the viator website and the views along the Amalfi Coast were breathtaking. This was well worth the time and I would highly recommend it.
The morning pickup was very disorganized and the tour guide unenthusiastic about her job. She gave very little but the bare minimum of commentary or description of the places was visited. The saving grace was the spectacular scenery of the Amalfi coast. I would recommend trying a different tour.
Need more time for Amalfi. am taking off 1 star because of the way the tour was organized, they did not stick to the plan. And one more star because they literally forced you to eat lunch at a place of their choice and also food of their choice. Seriously, nobody got a chance decide what they wanted to eat. So, basically Sorrento's experience remained incomplete as all we got was 40 mins to check it out.
