Great day experiencing more of the lost Mayan culture.

The guide Edwin who is originally from the area was very knowledgeable and the driver Diego was great as well. The great thing about this tour is that it starts at Chichen right when the park opens and we were able to beat the crowds. The cenote we visited was Ik Kil, which was beautiful. We were able to climb Ek Balam at the time of this review, but guide said they may be closing this down soon. You only have 15-20 minutes in Valladolid. I would recommend this for people who want to do a lot in one day.

Two negatives: 1 The lunch was a touristy buffet, wasn't particularly good. Would've much rather had delicious street tacos. 2 One thing to warn is that this tour picks people up from both Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. At least during my tour, I as the only one joining from Cancun was driven to Playa, where I met with the rest of the group, then to Chichen. Playa is NOT on the way from Cancun to Chichen, so I'm guessing this detour to Playa likely added an hour both at the beginning and at the end of the tour I was picked up at 6AM, dropped off at 7:30PM. So if there's a similar tour that only does pick-up at Cancun or if you book a private tour with them?, that would be less taxing for those coming from Cancun.

This is a great tour with a very small group there were 6 tourists all together and reasonable price. Communication prior to the tour was good, and pickup was prompt don't be late. It was a long 12 hour trip, but organized well, and Luis was extremely informative, and made sure everyone enjoyed the tour. The trip started at Chichen Itza, and the tour strives to get you there before the hordes do this is followed by swimming in a Cenote, then a buffet lunch nearby, a quick stop in Valladolid to see the town square and church, and finally Ek Balam. I had been to Chichen Itza before, but it never gets old, and Ek Balam was the real highlight - the frescoes are amazing, and give a much better sense of how buildings really looked on the outside. Definitely recommend this trip unless you like to be on a large bus with dozens of other people.

It was great to see Chichen Itza and learn the history etc but we spent a bit too much time there and explanations were maybe too in-depth although the other couple on the tour really liked learning all the historical details. Ek Balam and the cenote were fascinating to experience and worth the visit. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable on all sites and took us to a very enjoyable buffet lunch. Because the day was so long we didn't have time to spend in Valladolid and only drove around the square. It would have been nice to spend some time walking around there as it looked like a lovely town. All in all a good tour and I would recommend it.

Our tour was amazing! My wife, 7 years old son and I had so much fun. Our memorable experience with this tour couldn't have possible without our most knowledgeable tour guide Morux and his team. He is a walking encyclopedia with knowledge beyond expected. We learned so much about the culture starting from our hotel at Maya Palace Bercelo and to all over our tours. I would recommend this tour again with my family and friends. Please give this guys a well-deserve tip like we did. Again, thank you Morux you're awesome!!!!!!!!!

As seeing Chichen Itza was a 'must do' for us, this tour really fit the bill. We arrived at Chichen Itza early enough to enjoy it before the crowds began piling in. The cenote was a very nice stop after walking around Chichen Itza. The lunch at a smaller restaurant was also very enjoyable. The Ek Balam ruins were a nice contrast to Chichen Itza with its commercialism, and was well worth seeing. The stop at Valladolid was long enough to get a coconut ice cream recommended by our tour guide. Luis served as a very knowledgeable tour guide and managed the tour very well. We had an additional guide and the van driver, also excellent. This is an excellent tour!

Being the low season, we only had 1 other couple on our tour. Virtually a private tour! We have been to Chichen Itza before, but it still impresses on all levels. It didnt hurt that we managed to beat the crowds every where we went. Valladolid was nice, if for nothing other than a chance to stretch our legs and get a snack. Now that ive been, I would not miss it, but I wouldn't be opposed to stopping again either. Its a quaint town, and who doesn't want a Paletta when its hot out? Ek Balam is amazing, and to me, the highlight! It reminds me of Coba. Its a smaller site, but very well preserved. Even better, you can climb most all of the buildings. Being able to touch history is awesome!

In addition to a terrific itinerary, we had a fantastic driver Alfons and an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging guide Marux, a modern day Renaissance man, who teaches archaeology occasionally. I cannot say enough about what a dynamic duo we had for this trip! We even stopped in a small village for a rest stop, where Alfons helped me procure some amazing, locally smoked pork, for virtually nothing

My 5 year old son and I took this trip together from Playa del Carmen in late May and it was definitely a highlight of our vacation. Juan was our guide. His knowledge was deep and extraordinary, his passion for history and archaeology was apparent, and he did a fantastic job explaining everything we saw. He went out of his way to get my son involved, explain things on his level, and make sure he was enjoying himself. We'll definitely remember this excursion for a lifetime. Thank you Juan!
