Jerry was an excellent tour guide. Gave us lots of interesting information. I loved both winery’s we visited. I liked the first one better. It was smaller and they really spend time with us tasters giving the low down on the wine tasting art.
My husband and I, along with another couple took this tour and absolutely loved it. We visited two wineries in Sonoma Viansa and Homewood. Our favorite was the smaller Homewood Winery. They were very friendly and we were able to actually meet the owner. Stephen was an awesome tour guide and gave us a lot of facts about the area on our drive over. I would recommend this tour to couples looking for a half day winery tour.
Traveled north to Homewood Winery, while guide gave an insightful and humorous history of SF, Sonoma, and surrounds. Then went to Jacuzzi Family Vineyards, which is an Italian style winery. For my money, I enjoyed the smaller, more family-style setting of Homewood. The wine tasted better to me too. Glad I bought a couple bottles.
It was a good tour, but for $90 it should have covered tasting fees at both wineries. Jerry was a great tour guide. Only problem was Darla calling being very rude and condescending telling the bus couldn’t pick me up at my hotel and that I needed to walk for miles in a bad part of town. She lied.
We had a blast! I had no idea that the ride out of San Francisco would also be a tour. Our driver Stephen was extremely knowledgeable about all places to eat, places that are must sees, famous movie locations, etc. The first winery we arrived at in Sonoma was beautiful. It was exactly like I had imagined wine country would be like. Our second stop was a smaller winery but the tasting was more private and intimate. I would definitely book again and I would also request Stephen again as my driver.
Small bus was comfortable and roomie. The guide was exceptional and provided a lot of information about the area, it's history and the grape growing/wine making process. He was very friendly and helpful. The first winery was a small family run operation but this made it more intimate and our small group was given a lot of attention. The lunch spot in Somona was fantastic, a deli with lots of options and a gift shop attached. The second winery was larger but still not super crowded. There was a gift shop, plus it produced it's own olive oil and olive oil products and it had a great look out tower with exceptional views. Overall an excellent day and I would highly recommend this tour.
This tour was awesome. My tour guide Bill was amazing and knowledgeable. He told us so many things about San Francisco I never knew. The tour to Soma was incredible. The two wineries we visit was great. My favorite one was Cline. Bill took us on a mini tour of San Francisco on our way to Soma.
for that price you pay, u get to taste 6 different wines for free 7 another 6 for 15 no food at all not even snack. you'll get a bottle of water in the bus drive 1-11/2 hr eachh way and see some scenery . if you're not a serious wine drinker , i think its too much to pay and if you just want scenery . u can rent a car and do more scenic drive with the same amount of time and money spent
