You absolutely do get close to the orangutans and have your picture taken with them which is great, however the breakfast is awful and I found Singapore zoo unimpressive, almost all the enclosures are way too small and the leopard in particular showed the classic signs of stress just walking from one side to the other if it's small enclosure. There is a massive amount of work going on at the zoo so by 2020 this may be very different but right now it is pretty poor from the animals prospective in my opinion
The zoo was very enjoyable and worthwhile visiting if you are an animal lover. However, we stayed behind and did not use the transfer back to the hotel as the zoo is too big and too many thing to see and do at your own pace to leave with the arranged transport. We then did the river safari in afternoon. Then went back on our own and then went on the night safari with hotel pick up and drop off. This worked out well for us.The travel arrangements was excellent and on time. The breakfast was an outstanding buffet and absolutely worth every cent!!Seeing the Orangutans so close up and taking photos with them in background was also a very nice experience. Thus a highly recommendable activity.
We booked this outing before leaving Australia. It was a wonderful experience. The pick up time at our hotel was 8.00 am, they arrived on time and we were transported in a small shuttle bus to a location about 30 mins away and boarded a larger coach with other passengers. The trip took about 40 mins, everything was well organised. We were told that we had the option of returning to this bus by 11.50 or if we wanted to stay longer there were later shuttle buses we could take, at a further cost to us. The whole experience was well organised, the staff very friendly and the zoo was very well kept. Would highly recommend.
Great tour. Well worth every cent. This zoo is meticulously clean and the animals are very well cared for. Breakfast with the Orangutans was fantastic you can get up close with in touching distance. Linda Chan our tour guide from Tour East was terrific, very knowledgeable and a real comedienne.
We did this tour with the breakfast.....absolutely heaps and heaps of food to choose from. Loved the zoo and loved the fact that none of the animals are caged, it was an awesome day, saw a sea lion show and an elephant show. The zoo is amazing and the animals all looked happy. You have to visit this zoo - it was an awesome experience.
Personally I would book this through the zoo and make your own way by taxi. By the time we had messed around with coaches and late passengers it took us 1 hour and 35 minutes to get there from being picked up!! We were late, by the time we queued for a photo the food had gone and ended up with 15 mins to eat as they were clearing up around us. If we had got there for the start of the breakfast we could have eaten plenty and them enjoyed the orangutans. We also chose not to return with the coach as there is so much to see and not enough time. I would definitely recommend the zoo and the orang experience as it is incredible just not the package. Inhind sight booking through the zoo and using a taxi would have been a much better option
We were very pleased we did this, definitely worth it. We would do it again but next time get there as early as possible for the breakfast then plan to spend the day at the zoo. There is so much to see. It was great to be able to watch the Orangutans while having breakfast. Being able to stand so close in front of them for photos was special. But don't wait, there was always a long line of others and eventually the Orangutans move away. The only disappointing thing was not getting there earlier. Once the Orangutans left the staff started clearing the tables which made it clear that breakfast was over.
