A highlight of our 2 week excursion in Spain. The biking tour was on a beautiful, sunny, day and lasted
about 4 hours. In a group of about 12 people, we enjoyed some light exercise and gorgeous scenery. The
tour guide was very engaging ..............we stopped often for her to provide information about the history of
Valencia, the culture, as well as the architecture and all the influences of different groups throughout many
centuries. It was delightful being outdoors for half a day and learning on the ride with other people. I would highly
recommend this tour as a way to see the city and learn about the rich history of the region.
I was extremely upset with this tour. I am only 5 foot tall and they couldn't find a decent bike for me so they provided one in terrible condition. I was in enormous pain from it and was told by true bikers in my tour that they never should have given me this bike. I also felt that the tour guide was only mediocre and could have stopped more - our return trip was 25 minutes without any stops since she was too busy talking to one of the participants.
I enjoyed this tour immensly. Well organised and bikes quite good. Tour guide Jose Luis was knowledegeable, engaging, funny and added personal anecdotes to make the trip even more interesting. Would recommend this as an intro to the lovely city of Valencia. Thanks Valencia Bikes and Jose Luis. Kirsty and P
It was good, liked the tour guide even though accent was a bit strong, would have liked it a lot more if they could provide a service to have a pick up service closer to where I lived by the North Gate. I had to walk 20 minutes to get to bike for 3 hours and then have to walk back. would have liked to learn more of the history, in other words, would like it even more comprehensive, more stories, etc.
Valencia is the meeting place of medieval with modernity. We saw a blend of how history unfolded. I am an avid photographer and unfortunately not too many others on the tour were. I may have lost out on some photo ops, though I must say the guide did point out a few good views to photograph. Between single file biking and communicating to stop for a photo may have been a bit difficult. Otherwise the tour was super. The guide was good and with a sense of humor.
One can marvel at the way bold decisions have been made. To dam and divert a river to avert flooding and build an entire modern city on wither side with landscaped parks and garden along with modern buildings is quite contrasting.
Probably makes it a very livable city. I am a MotoGP fan, hardly came across anything to say that the city hosts one of the events was a bit disappointing!
Great tour! Chantal was lovely. Informative, funny, easy-going and, we gathered, truly cared about the city. Great all-around excursion. Valencia is super bike-friendly in retrospect, seems to be more so than Barcelona!, so the ride through the city, instead of being stressful, ends up being enjoyable!
