THIS WAS NOT AS ADVERTISED!!!! I have been on numerous Viator tours in Paris and Italy and this was a rip-off. We were delivered by our guide from Venice to the island of Murano and then handed over to what we realized after the demonstration of glass blowing was a high pressure salesman who proceeded to high-pressure us to buy a 1,000 vase. After telling him I was there for a workshop, he sarcastically asked if I really wanted to work with the kiln! I did not imagine this: This tour was advertised as a workshop that you could work on and take home your item instead, he said to pick out a small item to take home. After all of this, the tour did not include transportation back to Venice and it was the busiest holiday weekend of the year. We had to pay for private water taxi to get back to Venice as the line was so long to use our daily passes, it would have taken us all afternoon! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, VIATOR

The guide was very knowledgeable but would liked more support when buying glass especially as goods required shipping.

The tour guide was very nice, but the actual time spent with the craftsmen was short. Most of the time was spent making your own beaded jewelry or going through their showroom. Also, you had to supply your own ride back, an extra expense, not to mention it took quite a while because it was the public transport.

We were met in the centre of Venice by Silvia, there were 5 other people on our tour but it was a small enough group. She was lovely, spoke excellent English and escorted us to Murano, including helping us to buy the right water bus tickets. We walked a couple of minutes to the factory where we were give a wonderful private demonstration by a glassmaster, narrated by another guide who also spoke good English. Then Silvia took us to the workshop room where we could make an item from glass made at the factory. Most of us chose to make bracelets and Silvia took time to explain how best to make them and all the tricks. She them made sure we were completely happy with how they turned out before we were taken to look round their spectacular showroom. It really was amazing to see all the intricate and amazing things they had made especially after seeing the demonstration. We also got a discount in the shop so it was great for little presents to bring home too. Overall it took 2.5hrs including transportation to do the experience and we thought great value for money.

Meeting the tour guide by the pharmacy near the Rialto bridge was easy. She was extremely insightful of the Venician history as well as Murano. Thoroughly enjoyable and good value for money. Going in the morning avoids the crowds and allows you to benefit from the guide's knowledge whilst walking through the streets.

Fun day trip but the highlight was the work shop after the glass blowing where you can make some amazing things with left over murano beads

Took this tour with my husband and two boys 8 and 10 years old. I wouldn't recommend this special tour over any other glass factory tour. The 30 minutes in the factory watching the masters at work was really interesting--the man explaining what they were doing was very personable and reasonably knowledgeable about the process. The rest of the tour was very silly. We met our guide by the Rialto Bridge and walked 15 minutes to a public ferry. She was happy to answer questions about Venice when I asked them of her, but was otherwise very quiet. Turns out, she was just bringing us to Murano and dropping us off so it was less surprising that she wasn't really a tour guide personality. After watching the glass blowers for 30 minutes great! we did a really silly craft activity using typical glass beads similar to ones I've seen at bead stores in the US. They let my husband go back to the factory to take more photos bonus. Conveniently, the craft projects with glue needed to dry while we looked around the insanely expensive store. The group consensus was that the time spent watching them blow glass was fabulous. I think any glass factory tour would be about the same--no need to buy this more expensive tour with the activity.

Definitely recommend this tour! Interesting as well as fun. Great guide, took us through the center of Venice to get to the Vaporetto to Murano. Would have loved to see the rest of the island afterwards but they roll up the sidewalk after 5 pm.

Very interesting watching glass blowing. Fun to make glass bracelet, earrings and mosaic in shop. Wonderful to see gallery of glass. No pressure to buy but plenty of time to admire beauty from small figurines to large chandeliers and statues. Truly amazing craft.
